Fingers should be slammed down hard. What is often forgotten, is that the release of a finger must also be fast. Finger movement often tend to get too slow when playing slow music, so that note changes sound a bit blurred.

When learning fingerings, it is important not to go too fast. The brain learns every move one makes, so mistakes are learned as easy as all the correct notes. My ideal is never to make a mistake when practising!
